Gravitational Wave Astronomy: Listening to the dark side of the universe!
Karsten Danzmann, Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics, Hannover

For thousands of years we have been looking at the universe with our eyes. But more than 99% of the universe are dark and will never be observable with electromagnetic waves. After September 14th, 2015, everything is different: we can now detect gravitational waves and finally listen to the universe. A dark shadow world of spacetime curvature is awaiting us, and nobody knows what dark secrets are awaiting us out there.
