The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the University of Stuttgart invites applications for a

W3-Professorship (Chair) for Theoretical and Applied Physics

Outstanding physicists are sought with international research and teaching experience, and with excellent expertise in modern areas of theory of condensed matter. The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable in the use of high performance computing. He/She should be qualified in the acquisition of research grants and completion of research programs.

The selected candidate is expected to set up collaborations within the Department of Physics as well as to interact interdisciplinary with other faculties or with the Max Planck Institutes in Stuttgart. Participation in the collaborative research centers "SFB 716: Dynamical Simulations of Systems with Large Particle Numbers" and/or the transregional "SFB/TRR21 Control of Quantum Correlations in Tailored Matter" as well as the Excellence Cluster "Simulation Technology" and the planned Excellence Graduate School "Advanced Condensed Matter Science" are expected.

The selected candidate should participate in teaching of Theoretical Physics in its full extent. The requirements for employment listed in § 47 and § 50 Baden-Württemberg university law apply.
